Tim Burton | day 669

I always admired him! Even when I didn't know he existed back when I was younger and thought it was all about the actors. I admired him without knowing.
I was thinking how can he appear to be so inspired and focused in his amazing aesthetics. No matter what he does you always know it's him.
I always wanted that for myself as well.
Here I drew him getting inspired.
My belief is that his hair acts like millions of little antennas that draw inspiration in until it fills his whole body.
Could that happen?
Maybe it's time to get a perm.

And this doodle concludes Inktober.
I followed Mab's prompt list for this month.
#mabsdrawlloweenclub 2017
It was somehow refreshing following a list for 31 days.
Even if some days I reaaaaly didn't feel like it.
See you tomorrow for day 670.

Broom Ride | day 667

Now that it's inktober I'm starting to realize the determination I've shown to my doodle diary.
Almost every artist I follow on social media is strugling with inktober and some (thankfully only a few) have already given up on drawing every day - and it's only 31 days! I'm on day 667!
I've done this for well over a year! In two months it'll be two years!
I'm proud of myself!
Even if at the start (and even now sometimes) I just doodled to not break the chain and it comes out bad or rushed or plain ugly, or even if at some points I didn't upload the doodles daily for various reasons, one time even for a whole month and a half! I still doodled every day!
I've stuck to it and now it's a routine that can only get better!
I want to be someone who draws every day.
And that I shall do.

Headless Horseman | day664

So here is Bojack the Horseman with his head detached.
Is this considered funart?

Black Cat | day 663

A black cat enjoying his chamomile tea in his cozy living room.
He has chocolate chip cookies for later.
Also a collection of his favourite books for a relaxing reading.
Also I have the flu.

Moon man | day662

I know who moonman is.
I just wasn't in the mood to draw him.
Instead I did an old man with the moon in the back of his head.
It could be that he thinks about the moon alot.
Or that he is as beaten up as the moon.
Or that he once fell in love under the moonlight.
Or anything else.

Ghost | day658

Today's prompt was "Ghost".
So I was thinking about a character from a series I'm watching.
(not gonna tell which one because spoilers)
She was in a weelchair so that people would tend to her.
But she was lying and she could skate.
She was an olympic iceskater when she was young.
Then she had an accident and lost control of her legs - for real this time.
This is not her.
This is a ballerina.
She got too old and weak and cannot dance anymore.
But the ghost of her younger self never left.
Age scares me.
I always feel really sad when I think about the dancers.
Sure most of them are still dancing when old even if just for themselves.
After all their bodies are conditioned for many years.
But I'm sure they are not feeling the same.
Sometimes when I meet someone who dances I think about that and get sad.
I find weird reasons to feel sad.
And it's not like I'm sad about myself.
I've never thought that this will happen to me too.
Granded I don't dance.
I just doodle.
But my vision is sure gonna deteriorate and my hands are gonna hurt.
It's going to be more and more difficult to draw as time goes by.
But I never thought of that.
ok
I'll go jump out of the window now.

Vampire Bat | day 648

Today is vampire bat day. Also October is the bat apreciation month.
I really like bats.
I know they look like winged rats but they are very loving little creatures.
They are also the only mammal that can fly!
I did a little research on them (National Geoglaphic Kids - what did you expect?) and learned alot about them.
Like their size. They are about the size of a teacup with their wings closed.
So today's doodle is a vampire bat taking his bath in a huge teacup filled with blood.
I once saw a bat in person. It was amazing!
It was one of those things I'll probably remember all my life.
I don't think it was a vampire bat.
At least I hope it wasn't because I don't know where it would find it's food.
There are not many cows around where I live.
And I learned today that the maximum they can go without food is 2 days!
That's why when a mother gives birth for the first week or so the other bats provide her with food, until she is able to hunt again.
That's what their society is like.
Can you imagine what it would be like if we lived in a society like this?
If we really cared for each other and not just the immidiate closest to us?
That would be a life worth living! Twice!

Ghoul | day 647

I never knew Ghouls came from the arabian folklore.
They always seemed more "german-y" to me for some reason.
Also I never understood the R.I.P. deal.
"Our beloved auntie passed away. Let's not waste time in writing on her tombstone full words."
I don't like this doodle.
But it will do for today.

Also I forgot to mention that for this inktober I'm following the list Mab Graves created for her #mabsdrawlloweenclub 2017.
No reason for it. I just wanted to do something different for this October.
And it's halloween themed so what better way to sulk for 31 days straight for not celebrating it here.
..and yes I forgot to mention it for 9 days - what?
22 to go!

Ectoplasm | day 645

Ectoplasm was the stuff that came out of physical mediums' noses, mouths or ears during seances.
It was made from cheesecloth or other similar fabrics in most cases.
Usually it formed faces or hands, but in some occasions it was just that - a long piece of some sort of cloth that was draping down from one of the medium's holes.
Later they evolved it to gelatinus substances made from eggs, butter and potato starch and sometimes even plastic that was swallowed by the medium previous to the seance and was later barfed up slowly (and probably very painfully) in front of the paying customer.
It was said by the believers to be formed from a liquid that existed in the human body and - in the case of a medium - it could be extracted to take the form of the ghost that they were in contact with during a seance.
The medium was often blindfolded and the seance took place in a very dark room because it was believed thet any form of light would disintegrade the ectoplasm.
Science proved it a hoax and we never bothered investigating again.
I tried looking it up to see if there are people still doing it today but didn't find anything.
I think if something like that happened in front of me I would be amazed (although that wasn't the reason I looked it up, I probably wouldn't pay for something like this).
I would of course not believe it 100% but I think there is apart of me that would have doubts.
I'd like to be able to believe in some sort of paranormal existence.
I think it would be conforting for most of us.
Heck most of us do believe!
meh
